We left Fort Myers heading north in the Gulf Coast Intracoastal Waterway with intention to hit it hard and put many miles behind us. We are on track to get to Ft. Walton Beach with plenty of time to spare before the expo begins. Heading up the Intercoastal we sure do get lots of looks and thumbs up.
Several get their cameras out and take a picture. I get my camera out and take a picture back at them.
People who live next to the waterway were coming out of thier homes to check us out!
Folks check us out all day long!
We're in Venice now and it reminds me of the city of canals in Italy.
There were several bridges over this canal.
Check out the taxi on the water!
This is a picture of two ferries going back and forth simultaneously carrying cars and large equipment. It looked like some development was happening on the gulf side of the waterway.
Continuing to get the thumbs up from passerbys!
Interesting art along the way.
Ospreys like to make their nests on the day markers in the channel.
I just can't help myself. The sunsets are just georgeous on the river.
We stopped for the night in Venice and stayed in a Marina for the first time.
We felt we had a good day putting several miles of water behind us with no incidents so an endless shower, some laundry and dinner out was in order.
